Preparing for May: National Infertility Awareness Week & What to Expect

Posted on April 22, 2025 by Adaylin Alvarez

As we approach National Infertility Awareness Week (NIAW), April 20-26, 2025, it's important to recognize the millions of individuals and couples navigating fertility challenges. NIAW is a movement aimed at breaking the stigma around infertility, providing education, and fostering a supportive community.

At NYU Langone Fertility Center, we are committed to raising awareness, providing resources, and empowering patients with the knowledge they need to make informed decisions on their path to parenthood. Here’s what to expect and how you can get involved.

What to Expect During NIAW

Educational Resources & Events
Throughout the week, we’ll share expert insights, patient stories, and key fertility facts to help shed light on the journey to parenthood.

Community & Support Initiatives
Infertility can feel isolating, but you are not alone. We encourage individuals to connect through online forums, support groups, and community events designed to foster understanding and encouragement. Whether you’re navigating your own fertility challenges or supporting a loved one, these resources help create a sense of belonging and provide valuable emotional support.

Additionally, we will be hosting events at our practice during NIAW to offer both support and education. These events are designed to create a space where individuals can share their experiences, learn from specialists, and connect with others on the same journey. Stay tuned for more details on how you can participate!

Advocacy & Awareness Efforts
NIAW is an opportunity to spark conversations and advocate for better access to fertility treatments. Whether through social media engagement or participating in local events, every voice helps create change. Participate in this year’s campaign by using the following:

  • #ALLinFertility: Aims to highlight the resilience of those facing infertility and promote inclusivity, empowerment, and equal access to fertility care for all backgrounds and identities.

  • #LetItOut: Encourages open conversations around infertility, offering emotional support and fostering community connection through shared experiences and resources.

Show your support by wearing orange on Wednesday, April 23rd, to raise awareness for National Infertility Awareness Week! Share a picture of yourself wearing orange and tag us using the hashtags #ALLinFertility and #LetItOut to help spread awareness and support the fertility community.

Patient-Centered Care & Guidance
If you're considering fertility treatment or looking to better understand your options, now is the perfect time to schedule a consultation. Our team at NYU Langone Fertility Center is here to provide personalized, data driven care tailored to your unique needs.

Let’s work together to spread awareness, foster community, and empower everyone on their path to parenthood.
